The first question I always get asked when sitting down with someone for a consulting meeting is: "Are you a full-time freelancer or do you have another job?". The answer that I've finally come to is this: "I'm an aspiring freelance consultant. I actually have a full-time job which occupies me most days of the week, and I'm also an entrepreneur who's running a handful of growing businesses. When I do freelance consulting, I generally do it to earn capital that I can use to invest in my businesses and help them grow faster. This is cheaper in the long-run than getting an investor onboard."
What kinds of freelancing do I do? Well, the list is kind-of extensive, but believe me when I say that I wouldn't list it here unless I truly believe I have a strong level of competence in each discipline.
